SC Senate Unanimously Confirms Attorney Aisha Taylor to the Workers' Comp Commission

Please join me in congratulating our Aisha Taylor, who has just been unanimously confirmed by the South Carolina Senate as a Workers' Compensation Commissioner. Aisha was appointed to the position in early December, and her swift confirmation process has received praise from the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce. 

 

Aisha Taylor is one of our Collins & Lacy comp team rock stars. Her appointment is very well deserved, and her success is inevitable in whatever she does.  Below is the original release about the appointment. [COLUMBIA, S.C. December 5, 2012] – Governor Nikki Haley has appointed Collins & Lacy attorney Aisha Taylor to the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission.

Aisha joined Collins & Lacy in 2007 practicing in workers' compensation defense and employment law.  Aisha regularly appears before the S.C. Workers' Compensation Commission and the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce on both hearing and appellate matters. She has developed particular experience in the defense of retaliatory discharge claims arising out of workers' compensation and discrimination cases. 

“I believe Aisha’s knowledge of both employment and workers’ compensation law will translate very nicely and provide additional depth to her work on behalf of the Commission,” said Collins & Lacy Managing Partner Ellen Adams. 

The South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission is comprised of seven commissioners appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. Commissioners serve terms of six years each. Aisha’s appointment is subject to the approval of the Senate.
